Where Does Service Revenue Come From?
Won/lost reports are critical for you to grow your service revenue. Service revenue depends on two sales groups:
- Sales to sell installation, training, spare parts, professional services, and an initial contract as part of the product sale. The industry name for this is attaching services to a product order.
- Service sales of new contracts as the initial new product warranty expiration date approaches without an attached agreement and to renew existing contracts, either attached or sold by the same group. Usually, quotes for other services are provided by the group providing the services like parts, time and material maintenance, support, etc.
